VDRO in collaboration with IITB: PVD INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2025

Project Vigyan Darshan is a research-based internship program organized by the Vigyan Darshan Research Organization (VDRO) in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B) under the academic guidance of Professor Gopal Dixit (Physics Department, IIT Bombay).

This program aims to bring together students, researchers, and scholars from diverse academic backgrounds to explore the intersection of modern scientific research and ancient knowledge systems. The internship provides an opportunity for participants to contribute to research projects that combine theoretical analysis, scientific investigation, and interdisciplinary study.

The program focuses on developing a deeper understanding of science through historical analysis, modern scientific advancements, and the exploration of traditional knowledge systems. Participants will work with researchers and mentors to investigate topics across physics, mathematics, computer science, linguistics, environmental science, and other related domains.


Program Details

  • Program Name: Project Vigyan Darshan
    Module: History of Science and Analysis on Modern Science
    Duration: 6 Months
    Stipend: Based on interview and candidate performance

  • The internship will allow selected candidates to work on research topics under expert guidance while developing analytical, technical, and interdisciplinary research skills.

About Professor Gopal Dixit

Professor Gopal Dixit is an Associate Professor of Physics at IIT Bombay. He completed his Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur and later worked as a scientist at the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science (CFEL), Hamburg, Germany.

In 2013, he joined the Max Born Institute (MBI), Berlin, where he conducted advanced research in attosecond physics and ultrafast electronic dynamics.

After nearly eight years in Germany, he returned to India in 2015 to join IIT Bombay. His research specializes in:

  • Attosecond physics

  • Ultrafast electronic motion

  • Molecular dynamics

Professor Dixit has been recognized as an Emerging Leader (2021) by the Journal of Physics B and also serves as a Young Editor for Ultrafast Science (AAAS).

His research contributions have gained international recognition in several advanced scientific fields including:

  • Graphene valleytronics

  • Quantum computing

  • Laser-driven petahertz electronics

Atomic-scale imaging using time-resolved X-ray diffraction

His work has been featured in leading scientific publications such as Nature, Physical Review, and Research Matters, highlighting breakthroughs in ultrafast electron dynamics and quantum technologies.


About Vigyan Darshan Research Organization (VDRO)

The Vigyan Darshan Research Organization (VDRO) is a registered research and development organization dedicated to the exploration of science through both modern scientific methods and traditional knowledge systems.
